Haiti - Social : Official program of ceremonies of the Flag in Arcahaie

The official ceremonies of the celebration of the 209th anniversary of the flag, will be held Friday, May 18, 2012, in Arcahaie from 7:30 am Located in the West department (about thirty kilometers north of the capital ), the town of Arcahaie is famous for havinh hosted May 18, 1803, the Congress of Arcahaie which led to the creation of the national flag of Haiti by the Father of the homeland, Jean-Jacques Dessalines, by tearing the white of the French flag, and he made sewing, the blue and red by Catherine Flon to symbolize the union of blacks and mulattos.

The President Michel Martelly, will address a message to the Nation in the circumstances.

7:30 a.m. Welcome of officials to the Town Hall of Arcahaie

8:45 a.m. Arrival of the President of the Republic and the First Lady on the Place d'Armes

9:00 a.m. Mass followed by Te Deum

10:40 a.m. Floral offerings to heroes

11:00 a.m. Speeches of various officials

11:40 a.m. Parade of Schools

12:15 p.m. Lunch at the Ecole Nationale St-Pierre

1:30 p.m. Floral offering to "Grann Guytton"

2:00 p.m. End of Official Ceremonies.

Prior to the Flag Day, the Primature together with the direction of SMCRS (Metropolitan Service for Solid Waste Collection), the National Police of Haiti (PNH), the National Center of Equipment (CNE) and the Service of Maintenance of Urban and Rural Equipment (SEEUR) organized four evenings of cleaning in different areas of the Haitian capital. These actions are part of the program VIL PWÒP second version, already initiated by the government to effectively fight against the phenomenon of unhealthiness.
