Haiti - FLASH : Bloody failure of an attempt to take the National Palace

On Saturday, the population tried to find a semblance of "normality" in relative calm after a night of terror during which armed individuals from the "Vivre Ensemble" association bringing together the "G9" and "G Pèp" coalitions led "Barbecue", attempted to take control of the National Palace but they were ruthlessly repelled by the security forces who left several dead and injured among their ranks during the clashes

During several hours of maximum violence, with intense shootings, the armed gangs also tried but in vain to take control of the Port-au-Prince police station but they had to retreat...

According to Lionel Lazarre, coordinator of the National Union of Haitian Police Officers (SYNAPOHA) "The police injured and killed several attackers, while no victims were recorded within the police"

They also tried to burn down the Ministry of the Interior but fell into an ambush set by the police who inflicted further losses on them.... Several vehicles parked in the parking lot were set on fire. Apart from a few bullet holes on the facade of the Ministry, the building suffered no damage.
