Haiti - FLASH : 5.2 earthquake felt in northern Haiti

This Friday, November 10, 2023 at 12:22 p.m. and 26 seconds in the afternoon, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Dominican Republic to 30km from Fort-Liberté (Northeast Dept.) .

The epicenter was located at 19.691 degrees north latitude and 71.577 degrees west longitude in the Dominican Republic, 30 km east of Fort-Liberté (Northeast Dept.), 66 km east of Cap-Haïtien (North Dept.), 142 km northeast of Port-au-Prince (West Dept.) at a depth of 19 km.

No loss of life or damage has been reported so far by Civil Protection in relation to this seismic shock which was slightly felt. The earthquake was felt lightly in the Northeast and North departments of Haiti, and more strongly in the Haitian border town of Ouanaminthe.
