Total hospitalized cases (suspected and confirmed): 37,805 cases +298 cases in 24 hours, the day before +36 in 24 hours

Total deaths: 683 deaths ((459 institutional (+1) and 224** community (+0)) +1, previous +1

*No test results published by the MSPP Laboratories (or lack of update) for 15 days

**Community deaths not updated by the MSPP for 11 days

Partial assessment of cholera in Haiti according to data from the Department of Epidemiology, Laboratories and Research of the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP).

40-49 years old: 3,515 cases (+18)

50-59 years old: 2,675 cases (+17)

60-69 years old: 1,882 cases (+9)

70-79 years old: 1,090 cases (+12)

80 years and over: 433 cases (+5)

Men: 54.46% men (-); Women 45.54 (+)

Definitions:

Suspected cases:

Anyone with acute watery, profuse diarrhea with or without vomiting and dehydration

Confirmed case:

Any suspected case with a positive culture for “Vibrio cholerae” or presenting an epidemiological link with a confirmed case of cholera

Hospitalized case:

Any suspected or confirmed case that spends at least 24 hours in a care centre

Institutional death:

Any suspected or confirmed case who dies in a treatment center.

Community death:

Any suspected case that dies outside of a caring institution.
