Friday April 8, 2022 at 1:23 and 37 seconds in the afternoon, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter scale was recorded in Haiti in Grand'Anse.

The epicenter was located at 18.823° North latitude and 74.151° West longitude, 23 km at sea, north of the town of Jérémie (Grand'Anse Dept.), 90 km west of the island of La Gonâve (West Dept.) and 196km northwest of Port-au-Prince (West Dept.), at a depth of 10 km.

No loss of life or damage has been reported so far by the Civil Protection in relation to this new earthquake.
