Haiti - Politic : $22M for the Vivy Mitchel reservoir and the pumping station in Tabarre

Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe accompanied by Guito Édouard, the Director General of the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA) visited this week the sites of the Vivy Mitchel reservoir and the pumping station of Tabarre 68, whose the works are almost entirely completed.

Remember that Vivy Mitchel's reservoir includes 4 pumps with a unit capacity of 446.4 m3/h at 126.6 m of Total Manometric Height (TMA). It is sized to deliver 1.876 m3/h at 130 m with 4 pumps in parallel, being able to provide a maximum capacity of 45,000 m3 over 24 hours.

As for the Tabarre pumping station, it is equipped with 4 pumps with a unit capacity of 333 m3/h at 49.8 m HMT

Note that this work started in 2015, funded to the tune of US $22 million by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15978-haiti-social-$22-million-to-increase-the-production-of-potable-water.html are part of a technical and financial support to the Haitian Government

At the end of these visits, Jouthe said he was satisfied with the quality of the works carried out by Spanish and Haitian firms, stressing that these new infrastructures will allow a marked improvement in the distribution of drinking water in the metropolitan region, particularly in the areas of Delmas, Silo, Gerald Battle, Tabarre, Vivy mitchel, Route de frères and Pernier.
