Haiti - FLASH : The father of President Moïse is deceased
It is with great emotion that the Communication Office of the Presidency announces the sad news of the death of the father of the President of the Republic, Etienne Moïse, occured Sunday October 4, 2020 in his private residence.
"In this painful circumstance, the Communication Office of the Presidency expresses its sympathies to the Head of State, His Excellency Mr. Jovenel Moïse, as well as to relatives and friends who are in mourning.
Mr. Étienne Moïse was a conciliatory and courageous man, who knew how to sacrifice himself and to show courage and perseverance for the benefit of his family. Until the evening of his life, he pursued and maintained, in a deep sense of attachment to his country, his greatest dream, that of contributing to the progress and development of the Nation."
Reacting to this news, Jovenel Moïse wrote on his Twitter account "Daddy, goodbye and good crossing ! Your departure deprives me of a model, an advisor, a loving father who cultivated a sense of duty and sacrifice. You showed boundless love for your children and for your neighbor. You fulfilled your mission on this earth with satisfaction."
