Haiti - Social : Martelly shares the pain of Bangladesh

The President of the Republic, Michel Martelly, has learned with dismay the news of the collapse of a building of 8 floors, the Rana Plaza, on the outskirts of the capital of Bangladesh, Dacca, this Wednesday, April 24, causing at least 200 victims and a thousand injured. The building housed apartments, shops, a bank and two garment factories.

In this tragic moment, the President Martelly address on behalf of the Haitian people, his sympathies to the Government and people of Bangladesh in general and especially to the families and friends of the victims.

"I share your pain and empathize with your suffering. On behalf of the people and Government of Haiti, I express my deepest and sincerest condolences to the parents and families of victims of the collapse of the Rana Plaza building, in Savar," said President Martelly.

This event reminds us the collapse in November 2008, of the school La Promesse, in a poor neighborhood of Petion-ville, who made nearly a hundred victim and 150 injured.
