Haiti - Politic : Bernice Fidelia meets the Diaspora of New York

Bernice Fidelia, the new Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, during a tour started on Saturday, ending March 20, has an ambitious challenge, the one to encounter all sectors of the Diaspora in New York.

This tour will begin at Columbia University where she will attend a Forum on "Investing in Haïtian Progress". She will then meet, during her stay, with members of the Haïtian press, religious leaders, elected officials, both Haïtian and American, members of Haïtian and American businesses, other Haïtian professionals, including the New York Chapter of the Association of Haitian Physicians Abroad (AMHE), as well as Haitian-American Student groups. She will hold town hall meetings in Brooklyn and in Irvington, New Jersey.

The tour in New York of Mrs. Fidelia, is part of a global tour which runs from March 14 to 26, during which the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), accompanied by some members of his Cabinet, will visit the Haitian communities in Florida, Boston, New York and Washington, DC. She will also travel to Santiago of Chile in order to attend a workshop on the theme "How to integrate the remittances and the participation of the diaspora in the development policy." This workshop will be organized by IOM and the FHAPP on 21 and March 22.
