Haiti - Politic : Vote of the diaspora in the elections of 2015...

Saturday, February 23, the organization "Ban'm Dwa'm" conducted its first teleconference "Forum Global de la Diaspora" (Global Diaspora Forum), around the theme "How to identify Haitians eligible to vote in the diaspora ?" This first forum began a series of consultations to be held every Saturday from 3:00 pm until 23 March 2013.

The objective of this series of teleconferences is to collect suggestions, recommendations and questions from leaders and organizations of the diaspora, to enable the vote of the Haitian diaspora for the election of 2015.

More than 2.258 Haitians leaders-organisations of 17 countries took part in this first conference, which allowed to receive relevant suggestions and recommendations and answers to questions that will help to find solutions to avoid the technical difficulties, legal and political, to the vote of the diaspora.

Three officials of the Haitian State: Bernice Fidelia, Minister of Haitians living in a foreign country; Ambassador Stanley Lucas, Special Advisor to the President and Senator Moise Jean Charles participated in this forum.

These three personalities have expressed their agreement on the necessity to work together to make possible the vote in the Diaspora. The Senator Jean Charles promised to mobilize his fellow senators to include the diaspora vote in the next electoral law. The Minister Bernice Fidelia promised all her support and that of the Government Martelly-Lamothe in the realization of this objective.

The suggestions and recommendations collected will be part of a report to be submitted to the President Michel Martelly, the Presidents of the two Chambers, the President of the CEP and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, MHAVE, Justice, Finance and Interior . This report will also be available to all organizations and leaders in the diaspora.

The next Teleconference Global Diaspora Forum will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 3:00 pm at 3:00 pm at the number: 404 801 3223, on the theme: "Which method to choose to facilitate the vote of the diaspora ?"
