Haiti - Diplomacy : Lamothe in Vietnam, signing of 3 agreements

Yesterday afternoon, the Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, left the country for a 4 days official visit to Vietnam in order to boost the relations of cooperation between the two countries.

On the sidelines of this visit, the Prime Minister Lamothe will meet with his counterpart, Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, His Excellency Trương Tấn Sang in order to establish between the two states, new partnerships in agriculture, education, energy, trade and industry.

Accompanied by several ministers and officials of the Government, the Prime Minister of Haiti will take advantage of his stay in Vietnam to sign 3 agreements by the same occasion meet the CEO of Vietel/Natcom and several Vietnamese entrepreneurs interested in investing in the North, in particular, to Caracol. These agreements mentioned above are :

  • Agreement on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments, particularly for the textile industry, tourism, agro-industry and energy ;

  • Agreement on institutional strengthening and of capacity of the Haitian government ;

  • Agreement for the supply of Haiti in rice in the Vietnamese market at preferential prices, have storage silos and appropriate the techniques allowing to support Haitian farmers and boost rice production.

    The Communication Office of the Primature informs that during the absence of the head of government, the interim is ensured by Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism.
