Last Wednesday, during a press conference, Claire Lydie Parent, the mayor of Petion-ville, had accused without naming them, of government supporters, to prevent the municipality to function properly "[...] People of Petion-ville, I think you can see that Petion-ville suffers today. I told you, this is because there are many government supporters, who are jealous to see that the cartel is still working (in position) [...] since 2 months, they put us sticks in our wheels [...] If you see merchants in front all businesses, every house in Petion-ville, it is because they have removed the means of police [...] The trucks it is in quantity, that they throw fill in all the corners of the municipalities [...]

We just spent a month where the signature of the accountant of the city has not been accepted. All checks we have issued have been returned. The Town Hall is blocked [...] Considering what we see that draw [...] it will not bring good to the town. This is not what the population of etion-villeexpects. We have not the madness of the chief, who is standing in every intersection to make fuss... We say to the Government and the President, if they do not want that we remain as magistrate at the head of the town, do not make suffer Petion-ville, that they take their decisions [...]"

Yesterday, a week day for day after the public statements of the Mayor [coincidence ?] Ronsard St Cyr, the Minister of the Interior and Local Authorities confirmed the revocation of Ms. Claire Lydie Parent, whose mandate, he recalled, is terminated for more than a year. Ms. Yvanca Jolicoeur Brutus, who replaced Ms. Parent was installed at the head of the municipality of Pétion-Ville, assisted in its functions by Dominique Saint-Roc and Kerna Duval.

The former mayor of Petion-ville has for her part affirmed, not to be aware of the Government's decision...
