The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, accompanied by Josépha Raymond Gauthier, the Minister of Planning and External Cooperation and Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie, the Minister of Minister of Economy and Finance, has defended yesterday Tuesday, July 10, 2012, the Finance Bill 2012-2013 before the Commission Economy and Finance of the House of Representatives, presided by the Deputy, Antoine Rodon Bien-Aimé. he objective was for the Prime Minister to provide clarification around the use of funds made ​​available to municipalities. He took the opportunity to announce further measures for their benefit.

They also responded convincingly to the various concerns raised by the members of the Commission. Among the concerns of parliamentarians there was the institutional arrangements to facilitate the proper management of funds allocated to local authorities. On this occasion, the Head of Government, announced the creation of a bipartisan Steering Committee of 18 representatives, responsible for facilitating the release and the reasonable utilization of funds included in the budget 2011-2012 to the benefit municipalities.

At this meeting, the Prime Minister has put the emphasis on a set of projects concerning the construction of schools and of multi-sports centers in each municipality. He also stated that 400 solar street lights are already available for two departments and 7,000 more will soon be distributed throughout the country.

For its part, the Minister of Economy and Finance, indicated that the delegations will be strengthened in terms of human resources, so they are able to fulfill their supervision mission and of impetus to the governmental actions decentralized.

The work ended on a note of agreement and of common understanding in regard to the proposal of finance laws of the next fiscal year 2012-2013. The Prime Minister recalled that this harmonization between the powers of the state is very important for the smooth running of public institutions.
