Haiti - Politic : Laurent Lamothe confident, working on his Statement of General Policy

Ratified or not, the Prime Minister-designate, Laurent Lamothe remains confident of the good faith and will of parliamentarians of wanting unlock the country. Although the Senate Commission responsible for the verification of his documents has just announced the postponement of the delivery of its report for April 10, Laurent Lamothe continues to move forward, working on his General Policy Statement, to be ready in case he would get a ratification vote favorable of Parliament. Yesterday, the Prime Minister Designate had a lunch meeting with the Haitian private sector.

"...we had a lunch with the Haitian private sector, which is the business sector, the sector that creates jobs. We came to talk with them about how they can participate, help us work if we get a favorable vote in Parliament, so that they come with concrete measures to create jobs [...] because the jobs is one of the biggest problem in the country [...] there is a problem of means and we came sit with them, to see how we can work together on the problem of the creation of these jobs in the country.

The private sector is an important sector, the objective of the meeting was to listen them, knowing the problems they have, because we have to take into account the problems of private sector in the general policy statement on which we work.

Because we want to prepare ourselves, so, if we get a favorable vote, we will come with all our strategies. So it was a preparatory meeting of the strategy, to be able to move forward and serve the people as it should.

The decision is in the hands of Parliament, I think that the Parliament has the good faith, good will to unlock the country, I have confidence in their patriotism, I think we have a group of people who want to take the country forward, so we have an interest to work together to get the country back on track..."
