Justice : Bélizaire Summoned Me Jean Fritz Dorval, the Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince, summoned former deputy Arnel Bélizaire for Monday, September 7, 2026, regarding his role in organizing and participating in the anti-government demonstration of September 4th, which was violently dispersed by the Haitian National Police (PNH). However, Bélizaire will not be present; his lawyer, Ramon Jean Louis, requested a postponement, as his client is currently abroad. The Dominican Republic on High Alert Faced with the possibility of elections in neighboring Haiti, the Commander-in-Chief of the Dominican Republic's army assured that troops stationed along the border are on high alert and ready to intervene if necessary. UNNOEH criticizes the Government The "Union Nationale des NOrmaliens, normaliennes, Éducatrices et éducateurs Haïtiens" (UNNOEH) criticizes the government for failing to take the necessary steps to reclaim school buildings occupied by armed groups or used as shelters by displaced persons. The union believes this will prevent thousands of children from accessing education in adequate conditions and denounces the inadequacy of measures designed to support their learning. 30,000 endorsements : 21 out of 105 organizations have completed their lists As of September 3rd, 2026, only 21 out of 105 approved political organizations (hhttps://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48225-haiti-elections-88-parties-17-groups-0-coalitions-final-list.html) had met the requirement of 30,000 endorsements. The final deadline for verification and validation of these lists is October 14, 2026. Cap-Haitien: First 100 days To mark the first 100 days of the new Municipal Commission at the head of the Cap-Haïtien City Hall, municipal authorities organized a large ceremony in the City Hall reception room. This event served to honor several public and private institutions, as well as community figures, who supported the Municipal Commission and contributed to its activities during its first 100 days. At the same time, several municipal employees and departments received awards in recognition of their dedication, sense of responsibility, and leadership.
