Dominican Republic : 704,142 Haitians Deported in 22 Months Vice Admiral Luis Rafael, Director General of Migration (DGM), revealed during a graduation ceremony for 162 newly trained immigration officers that over the past 22 months, DGM teams have deported 704,142 Haitians in irregular immigration situations from Dominican territory. He explained that when he took office in October 2014, the institution had 302 officers, of whom only 235 were assigned to immigration control operations. Currently, the staff numbers 1,388 officers, of whom 1,272 are involved in control operations. Wife of a Gang Leader Arrested On the night of Saturday, August 1, 2026, in the Delmas 75 area, during a surveillance operation, the Haitian National Police, through agents of the Criminal Affairs Bureau, a branch of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ), arrested Laury Lacombe (22 years old), alias Tikreyòl, wife of gang leader Ralph Woodmyr Louissaint, alias Chalè, who terrorizes the Tokyo area, Rue Saint-Martin. She is suspected of involvement in the gang's activities and is currently in custody, being questioned by investigators. Murderer Arrested On the morning of Monday, August 3rd, 2026, the Haitian National Police (PNH), through the Southeast Departmental Police Directorate, arrested Justin Duffault (36 years old) in the Lamontagne area of Jacmel after he murdered his wife, Marie Pascale Antoine Duffault (33 years old), on Monday, July 27, 2026. According to initial findings of the investigation, the victim was stabbed multiple times by her husband. Jacmel : Second Day of Sidewalk Clearing On Monday, August 3rd, 2026, the Jacmel City Hall continued its second day of operations to implement measures, focusing particularly on clearing sidewalks to ensure the free movement of pedestrians and make public spaces more accessible. This operation was carried out with the active support of the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Protected Areas Security Brigade (BSAP), and other relevant institutions and services. The Jacmel City Hall thanks all citizens who are already cooperating in the implementation of these measures. It also takes this opportunity to appeal to the rest of the population, particularly merchants and business owners, to continue to respect the established regulations. Cap-Haitien : OFNAC Complaints Office at the Airport On Monday, August 3rd, 2026, the National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC) inaugurated a complaints and passenger support office at Cap-Haïtien International Airport. Objective: To offer a dedicated space for travelers who feel their rights have been violated and to ensure the follow-up of complaints against airlines. "We want to play an intermediary role between passengers and carriers, in order to harmonize their relationship," stated Enold Joseph, OFNAC’s regional coordinator. Nippes : New batch of medications Dr. Esther Ceus-Dumond, the Nippes Departmental Director of Health, received a new batch of medications provided by the Ministry of Public Health to strengthen the department’s health system. She pledged to ensure the proper management of these medications so that they reach sick people who need care.
