Dominican Republic : 704,142 Haitians Deported in 22 Months

Vice Admiral Luis Rafael, Director General of Migration (DGM), revealed during a graduation ceremony for 162 newly trained immigration officers that over the past 22 months, DGM teams have deported 704,142 Haitians in irregular immigration situations from Dominican territory. He explained that when he took office in October 2014, the institution had 302 officers, of whom only 235 were assigned to immigration control operations. Currently, the staff numbers 1,388 officers, of whom 1,272 are involved in control operations.

Wife of a Gang Leader Arrested
