Kenscoff : Terrorist Massacre On Sunday, July 26, 2026, at approximately 7:30 a.m., the Haitian National Police (PNH) conducted an operation in the Viard area of Kenscoff, after noticing the presence of several armed terrorists in the locality. Thanks to the cooperation of the local population and the support of the PNH's drone surveillance unit, the police were able to neutralize the terrorist group. The provisional toll of this operation is: 6 bandits killed, several others wounded, and a high-caliber weapon seized. Colombia to Close Embassy in Haiti On Sunday, July 26, 2026, Abelardo de la Espriella, the President-elect of Colombia, announced that his government, which will take office on August 7, will close at least fourteen embassies as part of a reorganization of Colombia's diplomatic network. Citing two internal sources and federal documents, CBS News reports that the agency wants to intensify its operations targeting Haitians, arresting them and returning them to Haiti as quickly as possible. The Trump administration won a major victory before the Supreme Court last month, authorizing it to end TPS protection. The Court’s decision took effect this Monday in lower courts. The report suggests that these large-scale operations should begin almost immediately after this deadline, as early as this week. One of the targeted locations is Springfield, Ohio, which became the focus of immigration debates during the 2024 elections after thousands of Haitians settled in the small city. PNH : 44 New Instructors Graduate The National Police Academy (ENP) held a graduation ceremony on Friday, July 24, 2026, for 44 new instructors from various specialized units of the Haitian National Police (PNH). This ceremony followed a training program that began on Monday, June 15, and concluded on Friday, July 17, 2026, aimed at strengthening the capabilities of specialized units and improving the quality of training provided within the institution. Taiwan : Haiti Signs MoU with Prestigious National Central University The Embassy of Haiti in Taiwan (Republic of China) has taken a major step forward by signing a memorandum of understanding with the prestigious National Central University in the presence of its President, Dr. Shu-San Hsiau. Led by Ambassador Roudy Stanley Penn, the Haitian delegation formalized this partnership focused on strengthening academic exchanges, developing scholarships, and conducting joint research. Training Young People in Diplomatic Practices Raina Forbin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, hosted the 7th edition of Haiti Model United Nations at the Ministry. This initiative, launched by the association Jeunes Acteurs pour le Changement (JEACHA), is dedicated to training young people in diplomatic practices, United Nations mechanisms, and the major challenges of contemporary international relations. During this simulation, organized in the presence of members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Haiti, Minister Forbin commended the commitment, rigor, and quality of the work produced by the young delegates, emphasizing that this diplomatic simulation transcends the scope of a simple academic exercise to become a genuine space for learning, dialogue, and preparing the next generation of national leaders.
