No cruises to Haiti until June 2027

Royal Caribbean has confirmed that it will continue to suspend its calls at Labadie, Haiti, at least until the end of June 2027, extending a decision that had already removed the port from its itineraries for all of 2026. "As we continue to assess the situation in Haiti and our ability to deliver the best vacations responsibly, we have decided to extend the suspension of calls at Labadie until June 2027. This decision was made with the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew in mind. We have communicated these changes directly to our passengers."

Wash Infrastructure for the Lakous...

The Regional Office for Drinking Water and Sanitation (OREPA), with the support of the Departmental Rural Unit, conducted a needs assessment mission for the Lakous (community-based water and sanitation facilities) in the Lakous of Badjo, Soukri, and Souvenance, located in the municipality of Gonaïves. This mission revealed the absence of drinking water supply systems and sanitation facilities, as well as concerning hygiene conditions. Following this visit, Stéphanie Smith, the Minister of Tourism, instructed Ministry officials in the Artibonite department to work closely with OREPA to establish appropriate water and sanitation infrastructure.

Professional Training : Graduation is an option

The National Institute for Vocational Training (INFP) reminds everyone in general, and all operators in the vocational training system in Haiti in particular, that "graduation is an option; it is not an obligation." The INFP warns all private centers that pressure children from impoverished families to participate in graduation at all costs, while demanding large sums of money in US dollars. The INFP is taking steps not only to adopt firm measures against these dishonest strategies that penalize the finances of parents and students, but also to assist, evaluate, and certify all vocational school students who are victims of these practices.

Elections : Registration Process Simulation

As part of the final preparations for the official launch of voter registration, a comprehensive simulation of the registration process was organized on Saturday, July 11, 2026, by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) in Jacmel, in the Southeast Department. New Electoral Register Agents (ADRE) and Electoral Security Agents (ASE) took the opportunity to put into practice the instructions and knowledge acquired during recent refresher training sessions organized by the CEP.

Led by the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ) in France, a member of the University of Paris-Saclay, this international initiative brings together the three shores of a shared history that has profoundly shaped the modern world.
