Haiti - Culture : Support for artistic creation, Call for Projects

The UNESCO Office in Haiti officially launched the project "Support for Artistic Creation, the Resumption of Cultural Events, and Access to Cultural Life in Haiti in the Face of the Security Crisis" last week. This project is being implemented with the support of the UNESCO Emergency Fund for Cultural Heritage.

This project aims to support cultural actors severely impacted by the current security crisis in Haiti. Beneficiaries will be identified primarily in the areas most affected by insecurity, particularly in Port-au-Prince.

The project is specifically targeted at :

• Individual artists, including musicians, actors, visual artists, and writers

• Creative collectives

• Cultural operators

• Performing arts technicians

• Cultural mediators

This project has two components :

The first component aims to support the implementation of cultural projects led by artists, collectives, operators, or local cultural organizations that address the needs for expression, resilience, and social mobilization in areas affected by the crisis.

The second component is a training program focused on project management in crisis situations. Structured around interactive modules, this training will enable participants to strengthen their skills in strategic planning, risk assessment, resource mobilization, and communication in emergency situations.

Through this project, UNESCO reaffirms its commitment to cultural resilience in Haiti and its ongoing support for creators, institutions, and communities that play a vital role in preserving and sustaining the country's cultural life.

Opportunities for cultural actors in the West. Receive up to US$8,000 for artistic creation projects and cultural events.
