Haiti - FLASH : The Ranch of Croix-des-Bouquets looted, vandalized and partially burned

On Sunday, February 1st, 2026, armed individuals from the "Viv ansanm" terrorist coalition attacked the Ranch in the commune of Croix-des-Bouquets, vandalizing, looting, and partially burning it.

In a statement, the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Civic Action (MJSAC) said it learned "[...] with dismay of the arson attack on several buildings at the Ranch of Croix-des-Bouquets during the night of February 1st, 2026 [...]"

It should be noted that the sports complex known as the Ranch of Croix-des-Bouquets, also called the FIFA Goal Center, a breeding ground for Haitian football talent, has played a historic role in the development of Haitian football. Over several decades, he has trained players who have brought, or continue to bring, the country pride on the international stage, including : Mechack Jérôme, Fabien Vorbe, Charles Herold Junior, Joseph Guemsly Junior, Nerilia Mondésir, Sherly Jeudi, Batcheba Louis, Melchie Daëlle Dumornay...

"[...] The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) condemns in the strongest possible terms this act of destruction against a national sporting and entertainment heritage. Despite everything, it assures us that its role in supporting young people remains unwavering and the momentum of the mobilization in support of the Grenadiers will not be interrupted under any circumstances. The spirit of unity, born from the historic qualification for the 2026 World Cup, must make us stronger in the face of adversity.

The MJSAC reiterates its call for peace and harmony, while reaffirming the Government's commitment to restoring a climate of security so that such acts will no longer disrupt efforts to develop youth, sports, and civic engagement."
