Haiti - Les Cayes Airport : Modernization work nearing completion

The renovation work at Antoine Simon International Airport, launched in September, was 80% complete by mid-December, with an initial delivery date of December 31, 2025.

Compliance with international standards (TSA and ICAO) : These interventions, while temporary pending the launch of the future master plan, aim for immediate and secure operation. A task force from the National Airport Authority (AAN) is currently deployed on-site to ensure strict compliance with standards. It is composed of :

  • The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO);

  • The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA);

  • The National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC).

Main terminal improvements :

The project, carried out by the Haitian firm SD Construction S.A. under the supervision of BETA Consulting Engineers, transforms the passenger experience:

  • Improved flow :

    Repositioning of check-in counters and the Security Checkpoint (SCR);

  • Sovereign Services:

    Creation of dedicated areas for immigration (departure/arrival) and customs;

  • Comfort :

    Construction of an international departure lounge, a VIP lounge, and full terminal air conditioning;

  • Logistics :

    New baggage handling area and relocation of Sunrise Airways' ticketing/cargo services.

Security and Technical Infrastructure :

In addition to the terminal, perimeter security work is underway :

  • Installation of a temporary lighting system;

  • Construction of a Road Access and Screening Post (PARIF);

  • Imminent commissioning of technical rooms for IT and video surveillance.
