Haiti - FLASH : 2nd attack on the National Palace, update on the situation

Monday April 1st, 2024, after the failure of the attack on the National Palace on March 8 by the men of "Barbecue", several of whom were fatally injured, the Palace was once again the target of a new and violent attack which she too failed. The units responsible for security at the National Palace supported the Police to repel the attack.

At least five police officers were reportedly injured during the fighting, one seriously and an unknown number of attackers were injured or killed, no official report has been communicated.

Monday afternoon, armed men who were unable to access the Palace site surrounded the area... They set fire to an armored vehicle of the Haitian National Police (PNH) which was broken down near the Palace.

At the same time, armed groups launched a series of coordinated and simultaneous attacks in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince, shootings were reported in Pernier, a district of the metropolis of Port-au-Prince, including Champ de Mars, Capois and Lamarre streets, Carrefour Aeroport, Delmas 19, 24, 30, Clercine Nord, Cazeau, Frères, Vivy Mitchell among others.
