Haiti - Caricom : High level delegation in Haiti

Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry had an important working meeting at his official residence with a high-level delegation made up of personalities mandated by Caricom, among others, three former Prime Ministers: Kenny Anthony (Saint Lucia), Perry Christie (Bahamas), Bruce Golding (Jamaica); Ambassador Colin Granderson.

The objective of this meeting is to continue the 3-day consultations initiated in Jamaica last June, and to discuss with the Government, political actors, representatives of civil society and the private sector ways and means to build consensus and enable inclusive participation in a neutral environment. The delegation will then begin a series of consultations with stakeholders, which will take place over the next three days.

The delegation with a small team comprising technical expertise in mediation, security and policy research will initiate good offices support in designated priority areas including security, governance, electoral process, long-term development planning and advocacy. They will also liaise with key international partners and organizations.
