Haiti - Politic : Capacity building of the National Committee for the Fight against Human Trafficking (Video PM)

Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the Hotel Montana, Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry, launched the project to strengthen the intervention capacities of the Ministry of Social Affairs as part of the establishment of the National Committee for the Fight against Human Trafficking (CNLTP).

In his speech, Acting Prime Minister Artiel Henry promised "The Government intends to make the fight against human trafficking one of its priorities and will take coercive measures to eradicate this dehumanizing practice in our environment. We therefore reaffirm our desire to fight it in all its forms and on all fronts [...] for the fiscal year 2022-2023, we have allocated to the budget of the Ministry of Social Affairs a budget line with the aim of strengthening the operationalization of the committee. We will maintain this line in our next budget.

[...] My government strongly encourages States to get involved in this fight, it is in our interest to end this inhumane practice [...] We must work together, share information, hold each other accountable and practice mutual legal assistance .

This is the 'sine qua non' condition for dismantling the networks of traffickers in our country and everywhere else, since it is a multifaceted activity that knows no borders."

Speech by Prime Minister a.i. Henry:
