Haiti - Diplomacy : End of Mission of Special Envoy Daniel Supplice in Dominican Rep.

The Embassy of Haiti in Santo Domingo informs in a statement that Ambassador Daniel Supplice, special envoy of Prime Minister Ariel Henry, accompanied by Ms. Stamie Joseph, senior official in the office of the Head of Government, left the country on Sunday 14 November to return to Haiti "Satisfied with the frank and friendly exchanges and the hospitality of the Dominican authorities and of all the personalities met."

This mission, which took place from Monday 8 to Saturday 13 November 2021, allowed Daniel Supplice to meet the highest Dominican authorities, in particular President Luis Abinader, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Alvarez, the Minister of Interior and Police, Jesus Vasquez and the President of the Senate, Eduardo Estrella.

The Special Envoy Supplice also met with senior officials of the United Nations system, personalities from the private sector, representatives of Haitian student associations and community leaders of the Haitian diaspora in the regions of Santiago and Santo Domingo.

During his stay on Dominican soil, he also paid a courtesy visit to some important members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Dominican Republic, in particular the Apostolic Nuncio, Bishop Ghaleb Bader and the Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the United States in Dominican Republic Robert Thomas.

In all these meetings, Daniel Supplice discussed with his interlocutors the main current problems of binational relations, in particular the questions of migration and border security, pleading "for greater harmony and a real agenda of cooperation in Haitian-Dominican relations at all levels "
