Haiti - Politic : Truce of the Gangs against money, the Government denies

Pradel Henriquez the Minister of Communication in a reaction note dated Tuesday, May 11, said he was "scandalized to see on TV, to hear on the radio and to read through social networks or in the written press that some will until claiming that the Head of State would have paid gangs to stop or reduce kidnapping in our country" and categorically denies this false information."

The Minister notes "that the grossest lie and without qualms, has imposed itself during the last 15 years, at home, as a major asset to denigrate the other, to destroy it and to position itself on the political chessboard at the same time.

Lying has therefore become a political battle horse and when it turns out to be so brazen it becomes ridiculous [...]"

Henriquez takes the opportunity to remind the gangs that kidnapping is a crime and "that no civilized society can tolerate such a crime, neither criminals nor their intellectual, logistical or financial accomplices. The kidnapper must remember that he is a criminal and whoever he is, his days are numbered."
