According to MINSAP, the arrival of international travelers has generated in Cuba an increase in imported cases of Covid-19 and their contacts with other people, representing 71.5% of the total number of cases detected in recent weeks. The Ministry emphasizes that this increase is mainly associated with Cuban citizens (coming from the above-mentioned countries).

The Cuban Civil Aviation authorities will readjust the necessary details with the airlines to reduce flights to Cuba and as soon as the epidemiological situation allows, the frequency of flights will be gradually restored.

In addition, MINSAP informs that it was decided to establish as a compulsory condition of entry to the island for all international travelers, the performance of a PCR test with a negative result for Covid-19, 72 hours before the start of the trip, a measure that will come into force on January 10, 2021.

In addition, the Ministry informs international travelers that upon their arrival in Cuba "the health protocols established today will continue to be implemented. These procoles include notatement the performance of a new PCR test at the border and in the case of international travelers who do not arrive in tourist conditions, another PCR test five days after their arrival."

Accommodation capacities will also be provided to Cuban travelers residing in the country, who do not have conditions at home or in that of their relatives to isolate themselves, and isolation capacities will be guaranteed in the hotels intended for this effect Cuban travelers residing abroad paying for this service.
