Haiti - Insecurity : The banker Guiteau Toussaint shot dead Sunday evening

Sunday evening, Guiteau Toussaint, well known banker and President of the Board of Directors of the Banque Nationale de Crédit (BNC), was the victim of armed men came to rob his home in Vivy Mitchell [Frères, Pétion ville].

According to preliminary information gathered by police, several armed individuals, unidentified, are entered in the residence of the banker and tied hose present. It was during this operation, under circumstances that the investigation should determine, that shots were fired, mortally wounded at the head the President of the BNC. According to police, the criminals would be left with jewelry and other valuables. Guiteau Toussaint, succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to hospital.

Aged 56, Guiteau Toussaint presided for 12 years the board of directors of the BNC. In recent years, he made of the BNC the third largest banking institutions in the country. Tomorrow, Mr. Toussaint, would have launched officially a major mortgage program named "Kay pam" within the framework of the reconstruction of Haiti, lauching where the President Martelly was expected.
