Haiti - Politic : The Economic Forum of the Private Sector finds a total failure

Five months after it urged President Jovenel Moïse, parliamentarians and opposition to to every effort urgently to begin a sincere dialogue to search for a broad consensus to reach a political agreement https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26957-haiti-politic-speech-by-the-head-of-state-the-economic-forum-very-critical.html , essential condition to the resolution of the crisis faced by our country, the Economic Forum of the Private Sector in a press note dated June 8, finds today a total failure.

"No dialogue, worsening of the economic and social situation, unacceptable insecurity, loss of control of geographical departments by the authorities, and so many other problems known to all... The country is on the precipice."

While acknowledging "the collective responsibility of all Haitian" in this failure, the Forum notes that if the President Jovenel Moïse and Parliament inherited a dysfunctional countries "They have by a set of thoughtless and repetitive decisions, contributed to push Haiti further into the crisis and have proven that they are part of the problem and not the solution."

The Forum strongly supports and encourages consultation in all sectors of national life and welcomes the call for dialogue of the inter-religious platform Religions for Peace Haiti.

The Forum concluded its note by saying to be "ready to contribute to the search for a realistic solution leading to a complete revision of the political and socio-economic systems in order to build together a new Haiti worthy, dynamic, prosperous, fair, just, in solidarity and resolutely turned towards the future."
