Haiti - Security : Balance of the operation «Boukle lari»

The National Police of Haiti (PNH) is satisfied with the operation "Boukle lari" (Closing the street) launched in early August https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-25241-haiti-security-operation-boukle-lari-a-the-pnh-deploys-3-000-police-officers.html whose mission was to ensure the safety of the population and tourists during the last two weeks of the summer season, where no less than 3,000 police officers were mobilized for this purpose at this operation.

At a press conference on Friday, Michel-Ange Louis-Jeune, spokesman for the PNH on the operation "Boukle lari" pointed out that "many controls were carried out during this period at the level of drivers, vehicles without plates were confiscated. 500 drivers were checked. 2,340 vehicles were subjected to controls. We removed the shades of 400 vehicles for which there was no authorization," said Commissioner Jeune, adding that" 1,585 people were controlled, "87 of whom were arrested for offenses of all kinds."

As part of this operation the Central Directorate of Road Police (DCPR) and police stations have confiscated 160 vehicles without plates, they were returned to their owners after they have solved their situation, others are still in confiscation.
