Haiti - Petit-Goâve : Promise of a school year without strike at Lycée Faustin Soulouque...

At the beginning of the week at the microphone of Préférence FM, Mr. Mardoché, leader of the protest movement of strikers teachers of the Lycée Faustin Soulouque of Petit-Goâve announced that during the new academic year 2018-2019 "the teachers strikers of the Lycée whose demands are not yet satisfied, do not intend to launch any strike during the new school year [...]" adding "since the State is irresponsible and does not respect its commitments to teachers, the strikers of the high school Faustin Soulouque have decided to no longer penalize learners or parents by work stoppages during school days [...]"

"However, the striking teachers do not give up the fight but change their strategy. They will undertake before the return of classes, scheduled for September 3, a set of actions to force the Ministry of Education to pay back wages and to appoint teachers in an irregular situation," concluded Mardoché.
