Haiti - Education : 144,760 candidates expected at the 2018 Baccalaureate exams

In the context of the Mondays of Press Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, the Minister of National Education gave himself a great satisfecit for the smooth running, last week, of the exams of the 9th fundamental year.

The Minister indicated that the course was now on the completion of the official exams for students of philo that will take place from Monday 25 to Thursday, June 28, 2018. He informed that about 144,760 candidates (regular and failed) from the ten departments, will take part in these exams and assured that all arrangements have already been made to facilitate the smooth running of these tests, which cost the Treasury in general approximately 600 million gourdes.

He reminded that "Cell phones are formally prohibited in Exam Centers for candidates, supervisors, except for those in charge, if necessary" adding "Any candidate for the Baccalaureate exams (Regular and failed) surprised in the act of fraud or misconduct will have its copy canceled, will be expelled and excluded from examinations for a minimum of 2 years."

Cadet has promised that the exams will be clear and precise and that the correction and proclamation of the results of all State examinations will be carried out within a reasonable time. He announced that experts will be available to correctors to supervise their work so that copies of candidates are processed in the best conditions.

Minister Cadet also confirmed that provisions had been adopted to withdraw licenses from 34 non-compliant schools.
