Haiti - Security : Mexico agrees to collaborate with Haiti in natural emergencies situations

Last week during the official visit to Mexico of Hervé Denis, the Minister of Defense https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24066-haiti-army-the-minister-of-defense-in-mexico.html came to participate in the XIII Conference of Defense Ministers of the Americas (CMDA) and at the working meeting of the ad hoc group "Mechanisms for Cooperation and Coordination in the Fields of Search and Rescue", the Governments of Mexico and Haiti agreed on the mechanisms for collaboration to deal with emergencies situations derived from natural phenomena.

At a meeting of the National Civil Protection System, Luis Felipe Puente Espinosa the National Coordinator of Civil Protection of the Ministry of the Interior and Minister Denis, in the presence of the Ambassador of Haiti to Mexico, Guy Lamothe shared their methods and experiences of emergency situations faced by both nations during major natural hazards.

As part of a collaboration with Mexico to strengthen the attention to natural disasters, through training, technical and legal advice, Luis Felipe Puente Espinosa asked the staff of the Directorates General of the Civil Protection and the National Center of Disaster Prevention, to support the authorities of Haiti in the integration of a risk Atlas, as well as to provide them with online training, offered by the National School of Civil Protection, to share the protocols of operation and attention to emergencies and the general law of civil protection.
