The National Association of Haitian Media (ANMH) is concerned about the silence of the police and judicial authorities following the worrying disappearance of journalist photojournalist Vladjimir Legagneur left on 14 March 2018 in reportage in Grand-Ravine, in the district of Martissant, the one of the areas where, in recent years, gang clashes have been particularly violent.

The ANMH particularly addresses the Director General of the National Police of Haiti and the Government Commissioner of the jurisdiction of Port-au-Prince and ask them to make every effort to find Vladjimir Legagneur and reassure his family, his loved ones and his colleagues.

In a note dated Saturday, March 24, Renan Hedouville Protector of the Citizen said he learned with dismay the news of the disappearance of the Journalist. While expressing its deep concern, he notes that the police and judicial authorities, including the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ-PNH), were seized of the case on 16 March and "that an investigation would be in progress".

Sunday, Limond Toussaint, the Minister of Culture of Communication expressed his solidarity with the family of Vladjimir Legagneur and the ANMH and wishes to inform that "[...] the police, and judicial authorities are hard at work , for in-depth investigations to establish the facts and thus shed light on the case ". It should be noted that this is the first official reaction of the Government in this case since the disappearance of our fellow journalist.

For his part, Commissioner Frantz Lerebours, spokesman for the National Police of Haiti (PNH) said after a silence of 12 days "We have no trace or hint for him at the moment. In such cases, without a ransom demand, we fear a fatal outcome [...] "stating that several police units continued the search to establish the circumstances he concluded "The situation is very worrying but we can not presume of his death without having found his body."
