On the occasion of its weekly conference, the Ministry of Communication received Monday the Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications, the Engineer Fritz Caillot, presented his various achievements during the 8 months at the head of the MTPTC.

In the department of Grand'Anse, road infrastructure works are being carried out on the road from Charles / Corail and Kafou Zaboka to Pestel. The 12 km of road on the Carrefour Bak to Mafranc axis were redeveloped as part of the Caravane du Change.

At the same time, an energy system is envisaged along three axes: a central network, mini-grids, and an off-grid program. The off-grid system aims to feed 400 families in Tiburon and 500 families in Les Irois. The progress of the work of the mini-grids is estimated at 95%.

In the southern department, 123 km of road have already been rehabilitated in favor of the Caravan of Change. At the city of Les Cayes, 25 km of road were paved. More than 5.6 km of the Camperin - Bakan road are under construction and work on the Joute - Saint Jean du Sud section (6 km) is already under way. In addition, the results of a study carried out are already sent to the President of the Republic in order to solve the problem of flooding in the city of Les Cayes. At the same time, in the department of Nippes, work on the road of Miragoâne - Petit Trou de Nippes is revived; the Government is working on 30 km of which 7 km are already ready to be paved.

In the Department of the West, the Carrefour Interchange project has been reactivated. This project aims to make road traffic more fluid at the level of Carrefour. The 700 linear meters of road of Bollosse will be ready by the end of December, as well as the section of road Carrefour Marassa - Croix-des-Bouquets. Other rehabilitation and lining work is planned for the metropolitan area for the end of the year.

Concerning the Great North, works are underway at the level of the national road # 5 (Carrefour Joffre - Anse-à-Foleur) of which 2 km of road on the 5 km planned for the end of the year have already been paved. The stretch of road Gonaïves - Ennery is 80% progress. 12 km of road are already ready at the level of the road Camp-Coq - Vaudreuil. In addition, drainage works and bridge construction are being carried out in the Center department.
