Haiti - FLASH : Notice to Canadian Travelers (IRMA)

Global Affairs Canada advises against all travel to the north coast of Haiti, from the border of the Dominican Republic to Le Mole St. Nicholas, due to Hurricane IRMA.

"Hurricane Irma is expected to sweep the north coast of Haiti as a major hurricane on September 7, 2017. Hurricane conditions, including excessive rainfall and violent winds, may cause flash flooding and landslides that could disrupt transportation and communications.

Other services that may be affected include emergency and medical care, and water and food delivery. Avoid travel through the affected regions. If you are in low-lying or flood-prone areas, get to higher ground and shelter indoors. Monitor local news and weather reports, follow the instructions of local authorities and contact your travel agent or tour operator to determine whether the situation will disrupt travel arrangements."
