Haiti - Education : 54 students prepare to study in France

On Wednesday at the Manoir des Lauriers, the Cooperation Service and of Cultural Action of the Embassy of France in Haiti, together with the Office Campus France Haiti and the Collectif Haiti de France, held a briefing for students enrolled in a French university for the Academic year 2017

This event brought together 54 students with a student visa and/or scholarship and 9 Alumni (alumni) who were invited to share their experience and advice with the departing students.

The aim of this meeting was to provide the students leaving for France with general and practical information on their journey as well as their conditions of arrival and stay in France. They received valuable information from Josemar St-Victor, Head of Campus France, in particular on : administrative procedures (social security, residence permit), housing search, etc... They also shared the experiences of alumni back from France, to help them integrate into their new environment : associative commitment etc...

Participants at the meeting also attended a presentation of the Collectif Haiti de France, a wide network of Associations, which can be solicited by students to demonstrate their presence, participate in their activities and benefit from their help.

The event, which took place in an enthusiastic atmosphere, ended with an informal breakfast.
