Haiti - Education : Call for applications, Open Society Foundations scholarship

or the fourth consecutive year, the Open Society Foundations (OSF) is launching its Civil Society Scholar Awards international mobility program, which aims to strengthen the capacities of doctoral students and university professors, as well as their integration into international academic networks.

This program is open to a limited number of countries, including persons of Haitian nationality.

Eligibility Criteria :

- doctoral students of eligible fields studying at accredited universities inside or outside of their home country

- full-time faculty members teaching at universities in their home country

Disciplinary Fields :

The candidate's project will concern the social sciences and the humanities.

Special attention will be paid to the following themes: law, justice and governance; Sustainable development and natural resource management; Economic rights and the fight against poverty; Public health, social work, and community development; The law and regulation of new media; Inclusive education; Post-conflict studies; Human rights.

Duration of mobility between 2 and 9 months.

Amount of scholarship :

Maximum funding requests: $10,000 for doctoral students; $15,000 for faculty members

Support :

The scholarship supports including stays (air, lodging ...) in labs and universities in connection with the applicant's research; Documentary research; The collection of data relating to the applicant's research field; The promotion of the results of research and inter-university cooperation; Scientific publication in peer-reviewed journals, etc...

Constitution and filing of the application file :

- Only the English version of the Regulation prevail.

- Online applications are strongly encouraged.

Call deadline: March 31, 2017

Applications, letters of invitation and support must be completed in English and accompanied by all the supporting documents requested. No file will be accepted beyond this deadline.
