Haiti - Japan : Support for the development of teaching materials in mathematics

Friday at the Montana Hotel, the Ministry of National Education, jointly with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), launched the project of support to the development of mathematics materials for student learning.

Part of the framework of actions to improve the quality of education, this project mainly targets the department of Centre for the implementation of the pilot phase to which will participate 6 fundamentals public schools chosen in the communes of Hinche and Mirebalais at the rate of 3 schools per commune.

This project, which is planned for a three-year period, should particularly involve key players in the education sector in the Central Plateau. It concerns a total of 35,295 students; nearly 700 teachers; 150 directors; 153 public schools and 44 inspectors of School District and Area Inspection Offices.

The management of the project is entrusted to the Fundamental Education Directorate of the Ministry, assisted by the Directorate of Curriculum and Quality and the Directorate of Training and Development. Several Japanese experts will also contribute to the implementation of the project.
