Haiti - FLASH : Violent protest, several wounded

Tuesday, a few hours after the publication by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) of the final results of the first round of the presidential elections https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15868-haiti-flash-final-results-presidential-1st-round.html , thousands of demonstrators to the call of several opposition parties, took to the streets of the capital, challenging the results, demanding respect for the vote of the people and request exclusion from the electoral race of presidential candidate Jovenel Moïse (PHTK).



Despite a strong police presence protesters, including very violent, have broken windshields, erected barricades of burning tires on their way and throw stones and other objects at the police force. Of clashes were reported between protesters and local residents who sought to protect their property. Near Carrefour de l'Aéroport in Delmas, men on board a vehicle "Service de l'État" fired in the air with live ammunition according to witnesses, in an attempt to disperse the protesters, causing a high tension of panic situation in the area. 



At Delmas 95 a police officer was hit by a bullet in the abdomen, while a CIMO officer was wounded in the head after suffering stone-throwing and that demonstrators attempted to set fire to a vehicle. In Delmas 3, a protester was hit by a bullet to the head and rushed to the hospital. Police made several arrests.
