Haiti - Army : Swearing and graduation of the Army Corps of Engineers

Tuesday to the base of Gressier (West Department), the President Michel Martelly accompanied by Lener Renauld, the Minister of Defence and of Foreign Affairs, participated in a swearing-in ceremony and graduation of different promotions of Army Corps of Engineers : 3rd promotion of soldiers technicians of Engineering Corps, trained respectively in Ecuador and Haiti, the young of Civic Service Program Mixed Mandatory (PSMO) after a year of training and the scholars of Interamerican College of Defence.

The ceremony started with a minute's silence for the victims of attacks in Paris Friday, November 13.

"The President of the Republic completed in that day a magnificent and magnanimous gesture..." said the Minister Renauld reminding that this initiative is part of the prospect of providing the country with a defense force capable of serving and defending population to different types of threats, natural, internal and external, before reviewing with the Head of State the various recipients.

Then has taken place the presentation of certificates to the scholars of the "Junta Interamericana de Defensa" by President Martelly and young volunteers of mixed compulsory service have performed a parade.

In his address, the President Martelly, while welcoming the realization of this noble and important initiative, sent his warmest congratulations to these young military engineers and wished them "good luck in the service of the Nation."
