Haiti - Elections : OCID for a different Haitian electoral observation

In order to promote greater participation of Haitian civil society in monitoring the political processes, 3 organizations of civil society : JuriMédia, the Ecumenical Center for Human Rights (ECHR) and the Civil Society Initiative (ISC), have come together in a structure called "Citizen Observatory for Institutionalizing Democracy" (OCID), in order to combine their experience and efforts to achieve a different electoral observation of what they were until now.

Benefiting from the technical and financial support of the "National Democratic Institute" (NDI), the OCID is currently developing expertise in systematic electoral observation. In recent months, more than 1,700 Observers were identified in the ten departments of the country and information these potential observers, allowed to create a database considered as the central element for the deployment of observers during the process.
