Haiti - Justice : Arrest in Haiti of the son of former President Porfirio Lobo Sosa (UPDATE 5:20 p.m.)

Wednesday evening, Fabio Lobo Lobo, the son of former Honduran President (2010-2014) Porfirio Lobo Sosa was arrested in Haiti, during a joint anti-drug operation of the Haitian authorities and the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) . Accused of drug trafficking, Fabio Lobo Lobo was transferred to New York, United States to face justice.

The Government of Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, reiterated "its commitment to continue its uncompromising struggle against the scourge of drug trafficking and organized crime" and reaffirmed "nobody is above the law."

Response to this arrest, the former President Porfirio Lobo Sosa said in an interview on Channel 8, that he was faced with a situation that he would never wish on any parent "I cannot say that he is guilty, I cannot say that he is not," declared Lobo, which hoped that his son will prove his innocence, adding "Fabio is not a child [...] He is a man with a family and must answer for his actions."

UPDATE 5:20 p.m. :

Fabio Lobo Lobo, was indicted today Friday in New York with trafficking cocaine, 48 hours after his arrest in Haiti, announced the prosecutor of Manhattan, Preet Bharara, he risks life imprisonment, and is accused of conspiring with others to import and distribute in the United States at least 5 kilograms of cocaine between 2009 and 2014.
