Haiti - Diplomacy : 3 new Ambassadors accredited to Haiti

Thursday at the National Palace, the President Michel Martelly, received the credentials of three new ambassadors accredited in Haiti.

These are the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Elisabeth Beton Delègue (France), who previously held the functions of Ambassador of France in Mexico (2012-2014), Director of the Americas and the Caribbean, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2008-2012), and Ambassador of France in Chile (2005-2008), she takes over from the outgoing Ambassador Patrick Nicoloso and the Ambassadors : HE Mgr Eugene Martin Nugen (Vatican) and Mr. Dimon Antoine Afouda (Benin).

These new Ambassadors reiterated the commitment of their countries to support the President Martelly in its efforts to improve the living conditions of the Haitian population.

For his part, the Head of State assured them of his willingness to work to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between Haiti and their country.

Thereafter at the Museum of Haitian National Pantheon (MUPANAH), the three new ambassadors respectively paid tribute to the Heroes of the Independence of Haiti and filed the traditional floral offering.

After this tribute, Michèle G. Frisch, the General Director of the Museum, invited the new diplomats to a guided tour through the permanent and temporary exhibition halls of the MUPANAH. After their visit, the new ambassadors distinctly expressed their satisfaction to have achieved during this visit "a meeting with Haitian history, expression of a great epic of Liberty."
