Wednesday, as part of Project of revaluation of public schools and the education reform, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, proceeded to the opening of the work of the first Annual Conference of Directors and Censors of lycées of the Republic, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. 406 principals of lycées and censors coming from 10 academic departments participated in this conference, in hotel Karibe.

Prepare the back to school 2014-2015, (September 8) present the new measures adopted by the Ministry of Education for the academic year 2014-2015, improve the administrative and educational management of lycées, are the main objectives this Congress.

In his speech, the Head of Government welcomed the Directors and Censors for the work they do on the ground in often difficult conditions and called for greater efforts and to take appropriate steps to improve the image of public schools "It is necessary to show leadership and discipline [...] academic excellence must be encouraged," declared Laurent Lamothe which announced a donation of tablets and laptops to lycées directors, censors and departmental directors who have distinguished themselves for their work and their performance in the final examinations of Bac compared with the very high success rate "Haiti, as you know, must have in all areas of skills necessary to be competitive and achieve the status of emerging country by 2030," and to do this, the Government wants to create a republican school, a school of the future based on excellence, equity, social justice, republican values​​, responsibility and commitment of all stakeholders.

or his part, Nesmy Manigat, the Minister of Education recalled "The idea of this Congress did not come after exams. Reflections were already underway to provide a platform for bringing together directors of lycées in order to adopt a common strategy for the takeover of public schools. A structure that should be permanent, for the revitalization of lycées and experience sharing between educational professionals."

In order to improve governance and the quality of learning in lycées, the Minister announced the establishment of a biometric reader to enable to control the entry and exit of teachers in the classroom (to control the absenteeism and unauthorized substitutions). Furthermore, as part of efforts to modernize the public educational institutions, he announced that all lycées will be equipped with a digital interactive whiteboard at this news school year.

For his part, Denis Cadeau, the Director General of the Ministry, stressed "This conference should allow each Director here, to understand the need to act quickly and well, drawing on indicators that are related to academic performance," inviting the heads of public institutions to understand the urgency of the hour for the next generation of the sector.
