Monday, as part of the commemoration of the International Day of the Nurse, the First Lady of the Republic, Sophia Martelly, attended at the Oasis Hotel, the 5th Congress of the National Association of Nurses Licensees of Haiti (ANILH).

This congress, which was attended by several actors of the health system, was an opportunity for Mrs. Lucile Charles, President of the ANILH, to seek the intervention of the First Lady for the construction of the National School of Nurses.

In her speech, Ms. Martelly, guest of honor at this commemorative day, emphasized the desire of the President of the Republic, to put health at the center of the priorities of his administration. She also took the opportunity to salute the courage and sense of duty of nurses, while urging them to continue to grow what constitutes the very essence of their profession "Being at the service of other" stressing that "every life saved is a victory! Without nurses qualified and suitable to our reality, the strengthening of the health system will remain wishful thinking. We must redouble our effortsto expand access to care for all, while focusing on quality training for our students."

This commemoration which was held under the theme "Nurses, a force for change, a vital resource for health" was an opportunity for the First Lady to pay tribute to the great figures of the profession, who paved the way for generations of nurses in our country.
