Haiti - Elections : Phone talks between Martelly and U.S. Senator Bill Nelson

Thursday, President Michel Martelly, had a very cordial phone talks with Democratic Senator from Florida, Bill Nelson. On the agenda, it was discussed in particular of the situation at the Haitian Parliament and of the organization of the forthcoming elections in Haiti.

The Head of State and Senator Nelson have agreed on the fact that elections are essential in the dynamics of strengthening, of sustainability of democratic gains and to keep the country on the path of sustainable development and progress.

In addition, the President Martelly shared with the elected of Florida, its willingness to unequivocally engage in a frank and constructive dialogue with all sectors involved in order to find a consensus in the national interest.

At the end of this conversation, Senator Bill Nelson praised the efforts of President Martelly and also encouraged him to continue its efforts with the entities concerned in order to complete the electoral process.
