Haiti - Culture : Rodrigue Milien, his health is worrying

A delegation of the Cultural Section of the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami, composed of Vice-Consul Guy François Jr, responsible for the cultural section, accompanied for the occasion by Mrs. Pascale Marra and Mr. Joseph Isson. Mr. Francis, made a courtesy visit, Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Rehabilitation Centre "Fountainhead" in North Miami, to one of the legends of Haitian music, Rodrigue Milien [born in Port-au-Prince, October 27, 1946], whose health is worrying.

The Vice-Consul had a friendly conversation during which Mr. Milien has shown a surprising alertness after being the victim of a cerebrovascular accident (stroke).

Accompanied by his sister, Mrs. Raymonde Milien, Rodrigue in his wheelchair, has timidly set the atmosphere, humming a few pieces at success of his repertoire, while caressing the idea of being able to return to Haiti.

In order to contemplate and relive the most beautiful works of legendary Master of the 70s, a group of artists of Miami and elsewhere, will organize in his honor, an evening fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012. Mr. François Guillaume II, the Consul General of Haiti in Miami, encourage any and everyone to pay tribute to this living legend of Haitian music, the legendary Rodrigue Milien.
