Haiti - Diaspora : Free Haitian Art & Craft classes, in Miami

The Little Haiti Cultural Center is proud to announce the incubator phase of the "Haitian Heritage Art Project". This program will entails free classes for dedicated and interested participants to learn the skill necessary to create tradition Haitian arts and crafts. This course will support the long-standing tradition of Haitian arts by conducting workshops in paper mache, textiles and other disciplines.

The course will be instructed by Haitian teaching artist and craftsman, Slynair Sylair. Mr. Sylaire will work with program participants in the surrounding neighborhood of Little Haiti and the City of Miami to provide our community with access to art and art education of the highest quality and instruction. He is a highly knowledgeable and talented Haitian artisan with over 20 years of experience in the instruction and creation of Haitian arts and crafts.

hese classes are reserved for participants from 14 years (adults welcome), will take place on Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, from June 22 to August 17, 2012 at the Little Haiti Cultural Center. $15 registration fee required, materials for classes will be provided.
