The CONCACAF Champions League has changed the schedule and venues for the 2026 U-20 Championship quarterfinals due to logistical issues and to protect the pitch.

The Costa Rican national team, nicknamed "Les Ticos" and Haiti's national team, Les Grenadiers, will have to adapt to the new stadium for the decisive match in their CONCACAF U-20 Championship campaigns.

Originally scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 4:30 PM (Central American time) at the Cuauhtémoc Stadium in Puebla, the match will now be played on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM (Puebla, Mexico time and 4:00 PM Haiti time) at the BUAP University Stadium, also located in Puebla. This new stadium is not unfamiliar, as it has already hosted group stage matches.

In addition to qualifying for the tournament semifinals, the winner will automatically secure one of the four CONCACAF spots for the 2027 U-20 World Cup.

It's worth noting that Haiti finished second in Group A with 6 points and a goal difference of -1. Our Grenadiers will to try and qualify for this World Cup for the first time in their history.

Costa Rica's "Ticos" also reached this stage of the competition as one of the best runners-up in the group stage. The team finished with 6 points and a goal difference of +2 after beating Guatemala 1-0, losing 2-0 to Mexico, and crushing Antigua and Barbuda 4-1. The "Ticos" will be looking to secure their 10th qualification for this age group's World Cup.
